On Topic: Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong's book was one of the first I read after being diagnosed. I looked up to him as an athlete and cancer survivor, and related to a lot of the experiences he 'wrote' (questionable) about in his book. So, when news broke of his upcoming tell-all interview with Oprah, I thought what he had to say might matter to me. I committed to watching both interviews as a kind of research for a possible blog entry. So, here it is.

As it turns out, I have no opinion on Lance Armstrong's intricate web of lies (whoops, was that an opinion?). The interview showed an arrogant, self-centred, man, drunk-on-power-and-greedy-for-more, exactly like other celebrities and public figures who have fallen from grace. Him being a cancer survivor changes nothing. Which leads me to this parting thought:

Cancer survivors are fuck-ups too.

That is all.
